In January 2019, Hinteregger publicly summed up his relationship with coach Manuel Baum. After a match at Borussia Dortmund, the situation escalated completely. The Austrian was suspended and loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt. In the summer of 2019, the permanent move followed for €12 million.
Jens Lehmann
71 days at FCA — then Stefan Reuter showed him the door.
Coach Martin Schmidt had lobbied the board, arguing that Lehmann as assistant would make him a better coach. 'Get me Lehmann!' was essentially his plea. It didn't work out. Lehmann's ego and self-promotion collided with Augsburg's modest self-image.

After Baier's crude gesture toward the RB Leipzig bench, Hasenhüttl and the Augsburg camp engaged in an unforgettable war of words. 'He didn't even apologize,' Hasenhüttl complained. Augsburg vs Leipzig — as in many other stadiums, an emotionally charged affair.
