51: In the 49th year of the Bundesliga (2011/12), FC Augsburg became the 51st club to be promoted to Germany's top flight.
The Haller memorial: He gave Germany the lead in the legendary 1966 World Cup final against England at Wembley (2-4 after extra time) — and died far too young in 2012. World Cup runner-up Helmut Haller is one of the players who defined FC Augsburg. A life-size bronze sculpture in front of the WWK Arena commemorates the midfielder today. It's one of the most popular photo spots for FCA fans.

In the legendary 2012/13 survival season, the managerial hot seat was swapped twice. Manfred Paula lasted only 99 days before ex-Bundesliga pro Jürgen Rollmann took over. He had enough after 76 days and made way for World Cup winner Stefan Reuter.
FC Augsburg has a soft spot for Korean footballers: With Jeong-ho Hong, Dong-won Ji, Ja-cheol Koo and Seong-hoon Cheon — promoted from their own U19 to the first team in 2019 — four Korean players have represented FCA since their promotion to the Bundesliga.

Der Kapitän des FCA überreicht dem gegnerischen Kapitän auch keinen Wimpel, sondern eine jährlich wechselnde Marionette. In der Saison 2015/16 ist Kater Mikesch das Geschenk an die Gäste, in den Jahren zuvor werden „Urmel aus dem Eis“ sowie „Jim Knopf und Lukas, der Lokomotivführer“ überreicht. Nach jedem Tor des FCA wird die Melodie „Eine Insel mit zwei Bergen“ aus dem Film „Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer“ gespielt.
Ein Flop namens Bancé: Der 28-jährige Stürmer Aristide Bancé kommt 2011 als Hoffnungsträger vom FSV Mainz 05 zum FCA. Gemeinsam mit Giovanni Sio, Knowledge Musona und Gibril Sankoh bildet der Ivorer die „Afrika-Connection“ in der Brecht-Stadt. Man leistet sich so einige Disziplinlosigkeiten und im Winter 2012/13 sprengt Coach Weinzierl die Gruppe. Sio wechselt nach Sochaux, Sankoh zu Nenan Construction in China. Bancé und Musona werden aussortiert bzw. an Fortuna Düsseldorf verliehen.
Almost always at the bottom: In the 2012/13 season, the Augsburg underdogs occupied a non-relegation position on only two matchdays — after matchday 3 and after matchday 34.
Top scorer: FC Augsburg's 2015/16 Europa League campaign produced many highlights. Alongside Aritz Aduriz of group-stage rivals Athletic Bilbao, FCA striker Raul Bobadilla finished as the group phase's top scorer with six goals.
